Calculus 2 IB HL
In the Calculus 2 IB class we will study differential equations, vector and transformational geometry, probability, and series, including numerical approximations.  This class should prepare students for Calculus 2 or 3 at any college.

The higher level IB exam is the first week of May.  In a recent IB discussion, we were reminded to inform students that the HL exam requires more study than the class work.  The HL exam is designed for motivated advanced math students who work independently on math in addition to taking math classes at high school.

Students should bring pencils, notebook, textbook and calculator (TI-83 or 84) to class every day.  In their notebook they should write each day: the date, answers openers, formulas and examples given by the teacher, and their assignment with page number.

Students should know and follow the school rules for behavior and attendance.

Grades:

Tests: 40% Two or three unit tests every trimester.  Our assigned testing day is Friday,
Portfolios:  20% Investigations  or extended problem solving.  Portfolio items should be typed, making appropriate use of technology.
Participation: 20% Presentation of problems from the homework is required weekly, or more often.  Homework must be done daily.
Notebooks and Reflections:  20% Dates, titles, notes, problems, questions, summaries and/or reflections are required.

Grades will be assigned as follows:    Grade        Percent
                A        85
                B        75
                C        65
