diploma and participate in graduation exercises. Students can
recover lost credits through Summer School, Extended Summer School at
Gordon Parks, Extended Day ALC, or Evening High School at Gordon Parks High School.
Summer School
Summer school will run from June 16 - July 18, 7:30 - 11:30
daily. Students can earn two credits in summer school.
Because of construction at HPSH, our summer school will be held at
Central High School for the summer of 2008.
Counselors identify students automatically for summer school.
Parents will receive a letter from the district with details in
mid-May, and a more specific letter from HPSH staff in early
June. If you have any questions about summer school, please
contact your student's school counselor.
Extended Summer School at Gordon Parks High School
Gordon Parks summer school (located at 1212 University
Avenue) will be held from June 16 - July 24. Classes are
held from 8:15 - 2:30, Monday through Thursday. Each class will
be 90 minutes long. Daily attendance, class participation and
completion of all assignments are required. It will be possible
for students to earn four credits.
Students wishing to attend Extended Summer School at GPHS need a
referral from their school counselor and must attend a registration
meeting. For additional information, please contact your
student's school counselor.
Extended Day ALC at Highland Park Senior High
When staff is available, HPSH will offer credit recovery
classes after school on campus. All levels of English and social
studies are generally offered. Credit is based on attendance and
completion of work. Extended Day usually begins in
mid-October. For additional information, please contact your
student's school couselor.
Evening High School at Gordon Parks High School
During the school year students can take classes at Gordon
Parks High School (located at 1212 University Avenue) two to four
nights a week. To sign up for Evening High School students must
have a referral form from their school counselor. For additional
