Highland Students Earn High Rankings in French Contest

Highland's High Performing French Students
A Vous la Parole ‘08

Twelve Highland Park Senior High students participated in the annual A Vous la Parole oral French contest held at the University of Minnesota on Thursday, April 10th. This year’s contest drew over 650 participants in grades 7-12. Sponsored annually by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French with the support of the University of Minnesota Department of French and Italian, the contest recognizes excellence in oral French skills. The various categories include prose & poetry recitations, theater presentations, song performances, extemporaneous reading and conversation as well as an original DVD category. Students are given ratings based on a 4-star system with 4 stars earning them a blue medal, 3 stars earning a red medal and 2 stars earning a white.  All participants receive a certificate of participation regardless of their particular rating.
