We're back! After a bit of time off since out last meeting your reunion committee got together at 8:00 last night. Well at least Anne Z and husband Andy met at 8:00 with the rest of the committee arriving by 9:30. I'm a little fuzzy but were we all this late for our classes? Everyone knew we would actually have to work at this meeting because I brought a pen AND a sheet of paper. We were going to record and send the minutes via our Blackberry's but then we realized none of us have Blackberry's. The gals on the committee led a lively debate on the pluses and minuses of Yoga vs. Pilates as the guys blankly stared. In an awkward moment not wanting to be left out of the discussion I blurted out, "Pilates, I love Italian!" Who would have guessed this group was talking about exercise?
Action Items: 1.) We will be emailing the registration form shortly. As soon as Deanne decides which PDF, JPEG, mail merge, twitter, blog she is going to use. 2.) We are doing a snail mailing next Wednesday the 10th. Just on the outside chance all of us 53 year olds don't have e-mail. 3.) The Highland Park High School website has the registration form which can be printed and mailed. Go to highlandsr.spps.org. Once there, look a quarter way down the page to "Attention class of 74". 4.) Please help us locate any missing addresses of classmates. We had a lot of people who came to the 30 year reunion as their first reunion and had a blast.
What this recession has taught us was proven again last night, and that is there is nothing like getting together with old friends and laugh the night away. We have one of the closest classes to ever come out of Highland Park and I want this reunion to be the best turn out ever. So please get your forms in however you receive them and encourage other classmates to do the same.
You all would be proud, the bar turned out the lights as the committee left.
Respectfully submitted, Peter Kenefick and the hardest working reunion committee in America.
