|  |  |  | 2009 Youth scholarship for Young People who are Cancer Patients/Survivors The American Cancer Society announces the availability of a limited number of college and continuing education scholarships for students under the age of 25. Eligibility guidelines are as follows:
*Must have been diagnosed before the age of 21 *Must be a legal resident of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota or Wisconsin for at least one year *Must be accepted to attend an accredited two or four year institution *Must complete application process
The application process is as follows:
*Complete application form, including physician verification statement *Enclose one letter of recommendation from a school, business or medical professional *Complete essay attached to application form *Include a recent photo
Deadline for all applications is March 15, 2009. Forms are available from Mr. Grays in the CRC.

Coss Family Foundation Scholarship Fund The Coss Family Foundation Scholarship will award scholarships ranging from $500 to $3500 based on financial need and course enrollment. The scholarships are renewable over four years. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, the student must be a high school senior graduating from a public or private high school in Ramsey County and planning to enroll at least half-time (six credits) in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
Recipients are selected on the basis of financial need, academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, unusual personal or family circumstances, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
A current transcript is required and must be submitted with the application. The postmark deadline is February 10, 2009. Applications are available at www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/cossfamily.

Minnesota Achieve Scholarship Program Open to seniors graduating from high schools in Minnesota who are planning to attend a public or private college or university in the state. Applicants must have completed a set of college-preparatory courses, with at least a "C". Students must come from a family with an adjusted gross income of less than $75,000 for the previous tax year. Eligible students can receive a $1,200 award to be paid in two equal
payments with second payment made after completion of the first term. Students can download PDF application forms, or apply online, at www.ohe.state.mn.us.

Lowe's Scholarships The Lowe’s Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to
attend any accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university within the
United States. Winners are selected based on leadership qualities,
community involvement and academic performance.
Applications for the 2009 Lowe’s Scholarship will be accepted beginning January 1, 2009.

Minnesota Family Involvement Council Scholarship Program The Minnesota Family Involvement Council (FIC) is offering two Harvey Bakke $1,000 scholarships and thirteen $500 scholarships to Minnesota Credit Union members. Applicants must be a student pursuing post-high school education in the '09-'10 school year (attending fall and spring semester) and be a member of a Minnesota Credit Union Network credit union. (Ask your credit union if you are unsure whether it meets such requirements.)
Applications must be completed and postmarked by Monday, February 2, 2009, or sent electronically by midnight of that date.

United Educators Foundation The United Educators Foundation will provide two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are United Educators Credit Union members or the child, grandchild, or other dependent of a member. Applicants must be plannning to attend a university, college, community college or technical college in the fall of 2009. Application deadline is February 6, 2008. Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund The Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund has scholarships available for next year to the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity This year, the Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund will award up to six scholarships, two for tuition and housing and up to four more for housing only to qualified students who are admitted to the Carlson School of Management. Students do not have to be members of the fraternity to be eligible for the scholarships.

PFUND 2009-2010 Scholarships PFUND is a 20 year-old community foundation that provides grants and scholarships as a catalyst for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. PFUND is offering scholarships ranging from $2,000 - $5,000 for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or allied student leaders. KFC Colonel's Scholars Would a $20,000 scholarship change your life? The 2008 Kentucky Fried Chicken Colonel's Scholars Program could mean up to $5,000 per year for tuition, fees, books, and room and board for you.
The KFC Colonel's Scholars program is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify, a student must be:
*Graduating from a high school this academic year *Maintaining a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 or higher *Enrolling in a public, in-state college or university (start date no later than 09/30/2009) *Pursuing bachelor's degree *A US citizen or permanent resident
Students may begin their college career by entering into either a two- or four-year accredited, public institution within their legal state of residence as long as they stay on-track to complete a bachelor's degree program.
Students complete their application online at www.kfcscholars.org. The online application will be available from December 1 2008 through February 10 2009.

US Bank Internet Scholarship Program US Bank will award up to thirty $1,000 scholarships to high school
seniors planning to attend accredited two- or four-year colleges full
time next fall. Scholarship award recipients are selected through a
