All-Class Alumni Directories

In 1999, the Highland Park Alumni & Friends Association produced Highland Park's first-ever all-class hardbound alumni directory. The alumni association, working closely with Harris Publishing Company, produced a second edition in 2006 with a third planned for around 2011.

A limited number of copies may still be available of the 2006 directory by contacting the publisher at 1-800-877-6554. during business hours.

The 2006 book included a tribute to former English teacher, coach and IB program coordinator Betty Richardson (by former colleague Evelyne Heselton), who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in the spring of 2004. Longtime teacher Charles “Skip” Skinner and several alumni of different decades also share their recollections and history of Highland, along with several photos. Both Richardson and Skinner joined the Highland Sr. teaching staff when it opened in the fall of 1964.

The 1999 directory featured a history of the by Highland Park's first principal, the late Kenneth Berg, and Betty Richardson herself, along with several photos from the past.

We Need Your Help!

While the next directory is a few years away, Harris publishing will seek our assistance in updating addresses as we go. If your class has held or will hold a class reunion, please share your most current addresses with us. This will allow us to update the directory with more accuracy and speed. No one will be listed without consent to the publisher, to protect confidentialities of information. You can get that information directory to Alumni Association President Tom Conlon by contacting him at 651-699-7399 or t.conlonsr@comcast.net .

When the new edition is underway, all known alumni will be contacted and given an opportunity whether or not to be included in the directory, and, if so, to update their names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses (new to this edition) and professional information. All alumni will also have an opportunity to purchase a book, with a portion of the funds to benefit the alumni association.

• If you know the whereabouts of lost alumni, or you yourself want to be sure we have correct and current contact information for you, please pass on any information to us by mail or e-mail found on the main alumni page. We will forward that information to Harris Publishing.

• If you have a current class reunion directory or database with your class members' names, addresses, phone numbers, etc., this can help us track and find more alumni with more current and reliable information. Anything you have, especially those since 2005, would be most valuable to us. We will also get in touch with as many class representatives as possible for this information. These can also be sent by mail or electronically to us on the main alumni page.

• Consider placing a permanent ad in the hardbound book. Examples might include:

** A tribute to a special teacher, classmate, or any other special person you knew while at Highland. It could be from an individual, team, a group of friends, colleagues, community members, organizations or former students. We can include photographs in the ad as well.

** Advertise your business or organization.

** A special message of word of greeting to alumni, from yourself or other interested individuals, groups or organizations.

For cost and sizes, contact Tom Conlon (address, e-mail and telephone found on the main alumni page).
