What is Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat for Humanity is a charity organization with the goal of providing affordable housing to those in need. It relies on donations and the work of volunteers to accomplish this.
Why should I participate?
Habitat for Humanity is one of our nation's largest and most important charities. The work you do will make a difference in the community. Also, it is an excellent place to earn volunteer hours if you are in NHS or IB. Finally, the main goal is to have fun! We are planning a fun year with several enjoyable activities.
What is expected of members?
Members of the Highland Park chapter of Habitat for Humanity will have the opportunity both to help fundraise and to participate in building projects around the Twin Cities.
Who do I contact with questions?
You can talk to or e-mail either Ananda Guneratne (anandaguneratne@yahoo.com), Jack Kolb (jack.kolb1@gmail.com), or Chris Struve (chrisstruve@gmail.com) with any questions. Also, we have a Highland Park Habitat for Humanity website (http://highland-habitat.wetpaint.com/) where you can find information and a calendar of upcoming events. You will need an invitation to access the site. If you are a member of Habitat for Humanity and you are unable to access our website, please contact one of the student leaders.
