| Career Internship Program - CIP | | The Career Internship Program provides students with a unique learning
experience that cannot be duplicated in a typical school setting.
Students enrolled in the program take two classes -- Career Seminar and
Occupational Internship. The Career Seminar Course has been designed
and developed by former student interns, business representatives,
post-secondary representatives, and the career coordinator. A
variety of topics are covered including family financial management,
Federal and State taxes, entrepreneurship, consumer decision making,
insurance, and applied economics. This class, along with the
Occupational Internship, allows the student to leave the school setting
in the afternoon to explore a career interest in a real-life setting
sponsored by an internship supervisor. These occupational
internship sites are developed and / or approved by the work experience
coordinator. Sites are supervised and include about 15-25 hours
of instruction / work per week.
